Fukrey is an Indian comedy movie which was released in 2013. In 2017, its sequel named Fukrey returns was released and both the movies were able to generate giggles amongst the viewers. Everyone is quite curious to see what the next sequel has to offer whose production is at a halt due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
Even though the coronavirus made the whole film industry to shut, it is assumed that it will be the center of the theme in numerous upcoming films. Various people in the film industry have a significant amount of time to reflect on varied ideas and situations. The filmmaker, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba has already stated that the team of ‘Fukrey 3’ is trying to inculcate a social message by using the pandemic as a theme. He told the Press Trust of India- “This part too will have a strong message that people will take away and it will be delivered in a humorous way. The original story doesn’t mention it (about Covid-19). But we have been contemplating. Fukrey We have discussed it. We need to be careful how we show it (Covid-19 situation) it shouldn’t seem forceful,” He further added, “We are toying with the idea to do (something) on Covid-19 or the current situation in a humorous way. We will definitely do something about it. We will make something. We need to crack the right idea.”
The movie has made substantial Fukrey progress and earlier the production had to start around October or November but the prevailing situations have made it quite uncertain now. Lamba added on- “We had started working on it before lockdown and now we connect via phone. We have got a story in place and the writing is almost 80 percent complete. We are working on the screenplay, which is almost done. Once things start to normalize and we have rules in place, then we will decide how and when to take it ahead. We will understand the Fukrey ground reality before going on floors.” The main cast of the movie would remain the same starring Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Richa Chadha.
Nevertheless, there are certain new Fukrey appearances as well. It will be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment just like the previous two parts.
