The HKTDC is organizing the 12th edition of the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair from 7th to 9th November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Ever since all duty-related customs and administrative control on wine were eliminated in the year 2008, Hong Kong’s value of wine imports has seen a surge of 700%, turning it into one of Asia’s biggest wine trading and distribution hub. The first edition of this fair was held in the same year to promote the region’s love for wine.
Since then, the event has become one of the most renowned events of the industry with active participation from key industry players from across the globe. The 12th edition is being organized at a much larger scale than the previous ones.
From all across the globe…
The event will feature over 1000 international exhibitors who are looking forward to sell their quality wine to eager visitors. It will also feature around 20 international groups from the various wine-producing regions from all across the globe. Some of the most anticipated exhibits include – The Ludwig Andre Late Harvest, from the Czech Republic and the Sav Sparkling wine from Sweden.
Line up wine events!
Over the course of three days, some 60 events will be organized, including several wine tasting sessions and a workshop hosted by Debra Meiburg who will discuss ways to promote wine to the younger generation.
During the Cocktail Reception on the first night, one of the industry’s most prestigious events, The 11th Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition will is scheduled during which, over 60 awards will be given out. The fair will be open to the ticket-holding public on the third day of the fair. Visitors can relish in the top-tier wines and experience world-class industry events!
The grand success of 2018!
In 2018, nearly 2400 public visitors came to the fair on the Public Day. This figure is expected to increase significantly due to the wide publicity and the larger scale of this year’s fair. Several seminars and wine tasting sessions are organized to enhance the visitor’s knowledge pertaining to the different aspects of the wine industry
