Lockdown 3.0: What is allowed in red, orange, or green zones?

Lockdown 3.0 zones , The second phase of lockdown which was scheduled to end on May 3, has been extended by two weeks i.e. till May 17. The Central Government has announced this lockdown in the wake of surging coronavirus cases. While extending the lockdown, the central govt. said that train, air, inter-state road travel, and metro services will be remain suspended till May 17 while adding that some relaxation will be allowed in some sectors in some areas. For this purpose, the country has been divided into three zones– Red Zone, Orange Zone, and Green Zone. After these guidelines have been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Here are the guidelines issued by MHA regarding Lockdown 3.0

Guidelines for all the three zones-
Schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed. Cinema halls, shopping malls, gyms, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls, and similar places will remain closed. There is a restriction on organizing any kind of social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, religious, cultural, and other events. People over 65 years of age, pregnant women, children below 10 years and persons who are already suffering from a disease are not allowed to move out. However, OPD and medical services will continue in hospitals. It is not allowed to move from one district to another. If a district is in the green zone, then local administration can approve moving from one district to another. Two-wheelers and four-wheelers have been approved except in the containment zone. Two passengers on the backseat in four-wheelers and only one person in two-wheelers will be able to travel.

Strict rules for Red Zone
Apart from all zone restrictions, cycle rickshaws,auto-rickshaws, taxis, and cabs will also not run in the red zone. Intra and interstate bus services will also not operate within these zones. Salons and spas will not be allowed to open. Private vehicles will also be used only in approved works. Private cars with two persons at most and two-wheelers without pillion rider are allowed. E-commerce of non-essentials will not be allowed. SEZs, Export Oriented Units,
Industrial States and Industrial townships, manufacturing units of essential goods, manufacturing units of IT-hardware, jute industries will open following the rules of social distancing (2 yards) and shift system. All industrial activities are allowed only in rural areas. It also includes MNREGA, food processing units, brick kilns. Private offices will open with only 33% of employees, all others will work from home.

Orange Zone
All zone restrictions will remain in force. Taxis and cabs could run with only one passenger at a time. You will be able to travel inside the district. Only two persons can travel in a four-wheeler.

Green Zone
Restrictions on all zones requiring social distancing norms will remain in force in the green zone. The operation of buses with only 50% of passengers is allowed. All activities will be approved except for all zone restrictions, but it will be mandatory to follow social distancing. Consent of administration is a must before conducting any sort of functions. Only a certain no.of people will be allowed in functions.

Liquor stores and pan shops will be allowed to function in green zones while ensuring a minimum six feet distance from each other and not more than five persons are present at one time at the shop. But consumption of liquor, paan, gutka etc.is not allowed in public places. Every person going outside the house will have to wear a mask.
