Lockdown 4.0: Lockdown extended till 31 May with more relaxations to states; Know what’s allowed and what’s not

allowed The Central Government on Sunday announced to extend ongoing lockdown in the country by May 31. States have been given more power in this fourth phase. Under the new guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs in May, States are allowed to delineate buffer, containment, red, orange, allowed and green zones as per the parameters issued by the health ministry. The states can give permissions to non-restricted activities in all zones except containment zones and will also be able to set staggered timings for work in shops, markets, and commercial places. Only essential activities will be allowed in containment zones. It has been said that wedding events are allowed but only with not more than 50 guests. At the same time, not more than 20 persons can attend the funeral.

What is open?
Inter-state movement of vehicles and buses has been allowed with the mutual consent of concerned States/UTs.States are empowered to decide the intra-state movement of vehicles and buses. Stadium and sports complexes will be opened without spectators. Shops are allowed to open providing that shopkeepers will ensure six feet distance among the consumers and will not allow more than 5 persons at a time. Outside the containment zone, barbershops, salons, and spas will be opened. Home delivery of food items & Online shopping will also be allowed.

What is restricted?
All domestic and international airlines will be banned. Prohibition on metro and general rail services will remain enforced. Citizens above 65 years of age, seriously ill patients, and children below 10 years will stay in the house. Cinema halls, shopping complexes, swimming pools, amusement parks, bars, schools, and colleges will remain closed. However, there will be no restrictions on online studies. Apart from all this, every sort of political, social, religious, educational, and cultural gatherings will be banned.
