New York After months of battling the COVID -19 pandemic that has paralyzed its otherwise scurrying life and has taken the lives of more than 22,000. New York is finally showing some signs of recovery as the virus gush is receding. The state of New York observed a plummeting decline in the death toll in the past few weeks. Even though New York was gravely affected in the United States, but still it has New York seen the gradual slowing down of COVID- 19 infections. According to the Johns Hopkins University tally, 22,883 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic and 3,50,000 cases have been recorded in New York.

New York City will offer free coronavirus tests at the city’s 169 nursing homes and will also provide staff to replace nursing home employees who test New York positive for the coronavirus. The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo on May 10 had ordered testing for all staffers and other adult care facilities twice a week. However, the order doesn’t apply to the residents of the state.
As a result, 3,000 residents of the nursing homes in New York have lost their lives, including those who were diagnosed by lab tests and also those whom coronavirus was the predicted cause based on the symptoms. Further, New York Cuomo added that the deaths increased by 112, up from 105 the day before, ut about one fifth the daily totals in id April.
New York has now allowed religious practices to take place, but only 10 people are allowed to gather, as the coronavirus restrictions are relaxed. Cuomo requested people to wear masks in public, even though the numbers New York improved. Meanwhile, the US has recorded 23,285 new active cases of COVID-19 and 1,518 patients have already lost their lives on May 21. According to the reports, the total number of cases is 15,51,853 with the death rate rising to 93,439.
