Plane Crashed, This year has proved disastrous beyond our imagination so far. Every day comes with a shocking news, from the outbreak of coronavirus, the demise of famous personalities, Australian wildfires, gas leak accident, the plight of migrants, super cyclone and now plane crash accident. For now, the condition is such that people are afraid of switching on their TVs.

Plane crashed with 99 passengers and eight crew members on board
A major plane crash happened in Karachi today. According to Pakistani media, a PIA Airbus A320 going to Karachi from Lahore crashed at the Jinnah Garden area near the Model colony. Health officials said, 37 people have died in this plane crash so far, although it is not clear whether all the deceased are passengers in the flight or residents of the spot.

How the aircraft crashed?
The flight PK -303 departed from Lahore at 1 pm for Jinnah International Airport at Karachi. The aircraft fell into the densely populated residential areas of the Jinnah Garden, model colony, only 3.2 km away from the airport, just a minute before its landing.

Shortly before the flight crashed, the pilot of the aircraft, Captain Sajjad Gul had issued a signal indicating malfunction of both the engines and had also given a Mayday call. PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Arshad Malik told that the pilot of PK8303 had told ATC that the plane was experiencing ‘technical difficulties’ -both runways were available for landing but the pilot did a go-around -says the probe will be conducted to find out what exactly happened.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has mourned the accident and ensured its proper investigation.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has also paid tribute to those who died in this accident.

This is the first major plane crash in Pakistan after December 7, 2016 when a PIA ATR-42 crashed on its way to Islamabad from Chitral.
