Due to the officially announced lockdown amid pandemic, the shoot of all movies, daily shop operas, and ads came to halt. After Sanjay Leela Bhansali officially announced the making of Gangubai Kathiawadi, the fans are very excited to get all the updates of the movie. The film was supposed to release on 11th September this year but the shooting of the film was stopped in middle due to the nationwide lockdown, now according to the Reports, Sanjay Bhansali is all set to resume the shoot.
The Secretary of FWICE Ashok Dubey said after Akshay Kumar’s ad shoot on responsibilities of
individuals post lockdown, Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi can resume shoot after getting
permission from CM Uddhav Thackrey and taking necessary precautions.
Further, he revealed, Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity so his set is all safe there and the possibility is his film will be the first movie to go on the floor post lockdown. While a lot of filmmakers are waiting to resume their shoot soon, so they have kept their set intact. One
among them is Bony Kapoor’s film which was being shot in Madh Island. However, Set of the film has covered safely and he will resume shoot post lockdown.
This is the first time when Bhansali and Alia Bhatt is working together in Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biopic based on a life of real mafia queen, an Indian criminal, don, sex worker, businesswoman, and controversial figure from Kathiawar. She was a very influential figure in the 60’s era. She operated a sex racket in Hera Mandi red light district.
Meanwhile, Secretary of FWICE said Corona is going to live with us for a long time, considering this we have written a letter to CM to restart shoot with keeping necessary precaution. We are permitted in Green and Orange zones areas but Mumbai is in Red Zone so it can’t be possible for a while. Daily wage workers want to start work. The guidelines by Producer Guild of India is good, we just want to add a few corrections for the safety of workers and technician. We have sent our SOP and we will work accordingly.
