Movies to Rejuvenate, With all the pressure that the pandemic is putting on us, it’s important for all of us to blow off steam and relax once in a while to get back a reign on life. Netflix, Disney+Hotstar, and Amazon Prime are our escape and can be a method of incredible family bonding.

Shows which are positive and light-hearted are our go-to during this surge of trouble and negativity. Below are some of the shows which are a must-watch during this lockdown.

i. Ratatouille- Directed by Brad Bird, this 2007 movie is a great way to capture kids’ attention and free them from boredom. Also, this funny and inspiring story of Remy, the mouse who is intrigued by culinary skills and clandestinely takes up the job of chef in Paris, is helpful in family bonding and giggles.

ii. Marriage Story This movie, starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver is another masterpiece by award winner Noah Baumbach that explores the bittersweet moments of a marriage that is falling apart. This movie holds up the reality but does not taint it with hatred or over the top drama. It captures the essence of tenderness and hopelessness. A great movie for a lazy, rainy day, it can pull some strings of the heart and make the day interesting!

iii. Piku- The Bollywood movie of 2015 revolves around the bond between a father and daughter which is not always sweet but indefinitely deep. The nagging father, Bhashkor Banerjee bonds with his daughter over a road trip to Kolkata and leaves us with laughter and few teardrops.

iv. Forrest Gump- Starring Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump, a simple-minded man who achieves beyond expectations is an award-winning movie. This movie is set in the time period of the 1960-70s.

v. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani- Bored and crave some Bollywood romance and drama? Dive into this 2013 movie by Ayan Mukherjee that stole hearts of many and made us gush over the splendor of the lifestyle, traditional outfits, and Desi love.

vi. Little Women- Based on the classic by Louisa May Alcott, this 2019 movie is a story of five sisters and their struggles and journeys of life. The bond of sisterhood holds them together even when they are far away from each other.

vii. Badhai Ho- Talk about smashing taboos and prejudices. Ayushmann Khurrana starred in this movie but the show-stealer was the storyline that puts our definition of romance
and parenthood to question. Walking at the border of taboo, this humorous movie will make you pause and think.

viii. Queen- Empowering women was defined by this movie in 2013 when a meek and simple girl, Rani is deserted by her fiancé for being too traditional. This pulls a string in her and she goes on her honeymoon alone to seek identity, self-respect, and happiness.

ix. Moana- Disney has come a long way in redefining princesses and this new princess, Moana has captured the heart of all. Daughter of the village chief, Moana is drawn to the ocean and embarks on the mission to restore the heart of Goddess Te Fitti.

x. 3Idiots- This Bollywood movie is over a decade old but is still as fresh as a dew. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, this story of three college boys on their path of career and stress will showcase the struggles of college-going students with a dash of laughter.

The movies mentioned above are an incredible way to de-stress and catch some laughter during the tough period we are cornered too.
