Lewis Hamilton Talks About Difficult Times During COVID-19

Lewis Hamilton, Formula One World Championship leader, spoke about the loneliness and the “difficult days” of racing on Thursday. He spoke about the tough times in Covid-19 bubble. According to him, it is important to open about such things.

Lewis Hamilton is a 6-time champion, one of the highest-paid athletes. He has won  5 out of u races in the rescheduled season that started in July because of the pandemic. Lewis Hamilton is a Mercedes driver. He had posted a message on social media explaining how there were 2 sides. One was the “cut-throat hungry racer” while the other was “figuring life out, day by day”.

Hamilton has explained that he has had difficult days in the bubble when all the teams had to operate in the races without any spectators. Asked at the Italian Grand Prix about comments, and his citation to loneliness, the Briton said he was just being truthful.

Lewis Hamilton Open Up During A Video Conference At Monza

“I think as competitors, it’s not the first thing you think of doing, being open and expressing yourself,” he told reporters during a video conference at Monza. “But I think it’s really important, more important than what’s happening here.”

Lewis Hamilton wanted to create parallels that fans could relate to. As they could not be able to experience what it was like to drive his car. “We arrive, and you’re on the TV for three days and it all looks pretty good, but the fact is you only see the tip of the iceberg. There’s all the stuff that goes on in the background,” he said. “So that’s what I was just trying to convey — that’s it’s OK to have the difficult days, they’re the growing days.”

Hamilton is 2 wins away from reaching Michael Schumacher’s all-time record of 91. The pandemic has given him time to focus and have a deeper relationship with his family.
