NETFLIX’S STACK OF HORROR AHEAD OF HALLOWEEN, THIS SEPTEMBER

Right before Halloween, Netflix has some horror goodies in September. As the list looks quite interesting, it is evident that some shows of the ‘horror’ collection include shows that aren’t exactly horror but somewhere close to the genre. Also, unlike other OTT Platforms, for example, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix does not embrace classic horror movies and shows as such and presents us with only Netflix originals or newer films and series. With the September list looking quite impressive, we can hope for more horror from the October list.

  1. The Babysitter: Killer Queen- Releasing on September 10, this horror-comedy movie is a sequel to the 2017 film, The Babysitter. This movie shows Cole Johnson (played by Judah Lewis) two years after he somehow managed to survived a satanic blood cult and unfortunately for him, he has to live through another nightmare, the high school. In this undoubtedly sexy but silly horror comedy, we can expect to see the familiar unwanted faces.
  2. The Devil All the Time- Based on Donald Ray Pollock’s award-winning novel, this movie starring Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson is releasing on September 16. This movie narrates the story of a man who, in an attempt to protect his loved ones, winds in a company of sinister characters. This movie can be easily expected in the ‘trending’ list of Netflix.
  3. Dragon’s Dogma- A video game adaptation, Dragon’s Dogma is a role-playing game developed by Capcom. Ethan is resurrected as ‘Arisen’ after a dragon steals his heart and he sets out to regain what’s lost. Countless demons stand in his way and he has to fight them to stop his humanity from slipping away. Expect a number of bad guys and fight scenes in this movie.
  4. RatchedThis movie is a dramatic prequel to the multi-award-winning film- One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. This movie is set to be released on September 17 and is a Netflix original starring Sarah Paulson. This film will surely keep you hooked to horror.
  5. Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous- The dinosaurs are let loose again in this movie, though in an animated version of the story. The story revolves around six teens who must band up to survive on an island that is wreaked by the havoc created by the dinosaurs. This movie is expected to be perfect for viewing with family and has enough suspense and action to entertain older audiences in addition to the children.

Another movie that is expected to have some potential is Enola Holmes. This film does not fall under the horror category but is a detective movie with action and thrilling scenes. The story follows the teen sister Enola of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. Most of us are unaware of her existence. As Enola’s mother goes missing, she is all set to use her intuitions of a detective to unravel a dangerous conspiracy in addition to outwitting her famous brother. Enola is a super-sleuth in her own right and the movie stars Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown.
