Though the lockdown has adversely affected a large portion of the world population, if you are among the privileged ones, you might be having a steady income, a somewhat satisfactory work-life balance and a lot of time to chill and relax. So if you are a sucker for online shows, here’s a list of the best Hindi language series on Netflix that you can binge-watch without being bored.
- Sacred Games– It is highly improbable that you haven’t heard or already seen this show as it was the first Netflix original web television series of India. So why not watch it again? This series originally has two series that released between July 5, 2018, and August 15, 2019. This series based on a 2006 novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte who along with a cast of efficient performers bring to light, the dark underworld of Mumbai through the story of a dutiful police officer and a RAW agent.
- Little Things- Looking for something more light-hearted, jovial and romantic? This series has three seasons (all of them available on Netflix) and as the name suggests, it chronicles the daily lives and struggles of a young unmarried couple Kavya and Dhruv, living together in Mumbai and tracks the ups and downs of their relationship over the years. Not actually a Netflix original, the franchise of this show was bought by Netflix after its first season gained remarkable appreciation on its YouTube release.
- Jamtara- A Netflix original series, this is an Indian show inspired from actual events of financial frauds that affected a large number of people. It’s a thrilling story about a village called Jamtara in the state of Jharkhand which turned out to be the phishing capital of India. The story revolves around Sunny and Rocky who are cousins and who run a successful phishing scam along with their friends from the village. Their unlawful activities are noticed by a local criminal mastermind who wants to get a job done. The cops too are involved post which tensions increase and live are threatened.
- Taj Mahal 1989- This Netflix original series narrates three interconnected love stories. The first between two college professors, second between a couple from different communities who fight societal norms to stay together and the third story is about two college students who love each other but are surrounded by jealousy, politics etc. The impactful narrative portrays lost love, eternal love and new love in a beautifully curated package.
